UX engineering & Accessibility

Bridging the gap between technology and the end user by designing in code, building with agentic tools and embedding inclusive standards.

Prototyping & proofs of concept

Prototypes help test new ideas, observe user behaviour, evaluate desirability and provide the insights to help make sure teams build the right thing.

After experimenting with vibe coding tools (Lovable, Figma Make, Google AI Studio etc) I now prefer to prototype and build with Cursor and Claude Code.

  • Zero-to-one prototypes to rapidly conceptualise ideas
  • Prototyping inside production codebases to reuse existing context
  • Realistic, functional prototypes for user testing
  • Rapid iteration cycles based on user feedback
  • Interactive prototypes to align teams on a shared vision

Design systems

Design systems keep product and engineering consistent, cut rework, and lose less in handoff. I build and maintain them, and introduce new patterns to improve workflows, empower teams and help bridge product and engineering.

  • Design, build, and maintain component libraries
  • Design-system guidance for the wider team
  • Introduce new patterns to improve workflows and empower users
  • Component and pattern audits
  • Facilitate design system workshops

Accessibility

I audit products against WCAG and real assistive tech and help teams build it in from the start.

  • Coaching on front-end and accessibility best practice
  • Screen reader testing and automated reporting
  • Accessibility audits against WCAG
  • Manual testing with assistive tech

Designing and building in production

Technical fluency means I can take ideas and research insights from conception to production.

  • Turning customer insights into shippable features
  • Front-end contribution alongside engineering
  • Building and shipping with agentic tools (Cursor, Claude)
  • Bug fixes and improvements straight into production
