Teaching Vacancies: A free to use job board for schools in the UK
Schools in the UK spend £75 million/yr advertising roles on paid job boards. Teaching Vacancies is a free alternative to help people find teaching, school leadership and education support jobs in England.

I led the design and user experience of the service, working closely with a cross-functional team to ensure the service was accessible, usable and effective.

When I moved on from this project, we were saving schools across the UK upwards of £4M per year.

Subscribe to the Guardian: A modular platform for a global audience
Leading the design and experience of The Guardian's subscription journey, where we built a modular platform to allow for various global audiences.

This was a ground-up redesign and rebuild of the subscription journey for Guardian patrons that resulted in a new, robust and flexible platform that led to increased conversion and revenue growth for the organisation.

The rise of the deepfake and the threat to democracy Opens in new tab
An immersive creative coding project to support the long-form journalism team. Implementing scroll based animation to support storytelling, cheeky gifs and easter eggs here and there was a lot of fun! This project won an Award of Excellence in the 2019 Society for News Design awards.

Ready Steady Gov: Open source tools for state government Opens in new tab
Part proof of concept, part conversation starter, we wanted to encourage a collaborative and open approach to digital within WA government by releasing a series of modern, modular website templates. The intent being an agency struggling with resources could use them to quickly launch a compliant site or perhaps use them for rapid prototyping.

This project was a national finalist in the 2015 Australian Web Awards in the Innovation category and while in 2026 the project isn't as technically relevant, the intention is still really clear.

Perth Device Lab: Founding a grass-roots community space
An open source project with a difference. The Perth Device Lab was an open community space for testing web products on a range of devices and operating systems.

I designed and did the front-end development for the website, as well as facilitated the use of the space.

A collection of semantic, accessible and engaging frontend work I have completed over the years that demonstrate how code can be used to lift the experience of a product, whilst establishing robust accessibility.
